Depths (Generation Art)

Depths (Glacier 2023) by Medina Kasimova has a fascinating history. Originally created in 2019 as Glacier, the artwork was featured as the cover of ART Odyssey Magazine: Navigating the Future of Art by Ulvi Kasimov, with contributions from Medina U. In 2023, Medina revisited the piece, feeling it was unfinished, and added striking red elements, transforming it into a new artistic statement. This updated version became the foundation for a generative media artwork. The original Glacier now exists solely in digital form, preserved through its digital passport.

Depths was showcased as part of the 7 Contemporary and Digital Art Exhibition in New York, organized by Art Innovation Gallery on Times Square, where it was prominently displayed from September 2nd to 8th, 2024. Additionally, it was featured at the Baku International Film Festival in the Heydar Aliyev Center as part of a media art showcase.
