Flowers. Composition No. 7. Still life

2022, Oil on canvas, 100x100 cm

The composition, made mainly in green-blue and red-yellow colors, is similar to the reflection in the water of plants and flowers growing along the edge of the reservoir. Red and yellow buds are inscribed in vertical bright stripes of grass stalks. But their clear geometricity suggests that the flowers were specially planted in this place by an attentive gardener in order to create a harmonious pattern that pleases the eyes.

However, it may turn out that we see the flowers growing in the yard through the openwork lattice of the window, which refracts the light and reflects the riot of colors of nature, so its bars are painted in all the same colors that are presented in the plants.

Such an unusual work can become a designer decoration of any space, if its geometric features fit organically into the interior and emphasize its lines and color scheme.

Igor Vladimirovich Gorodokin. Portrait

2022, Oil on canvas, 50x60 cm

Today I want to tell you a story about the creation of one of my portraits. He is special. Not just because it depicts a person who is close to me but also because he is the embodiment of my admiration and gratitude.

Igor Vladimirovich Gorodokin. Remember this name. He is a gastroenterologist whom our family met many years ago at Elena Malysheva's clinic. Since then, he has become our family doctor, friend, and wise adviser. Igor Vladimirovich went to live in America, where he continued his medical practice. But despite the distance, his heart always remains with us in Russia. He comes, consults, and helps us stay healthy.

Our recent meetings in Moscow inspired the portrait I want to describe to you today. Igor Vladimirovich looked extraordinarily elegant and wore a beautiful suit and a chic tie - his image was perfect. I couldn't help but capture this moment, and I just felt like I had to portray it that way.

At first, I made several sketches, trying to convey the main features. Then she transferred the image to the canvas and gradually filled it with paint.

I chose bright shades of red, from bright scarlet to maroon, to emphasize the energy and impression it made on me. But the green color was important: it is my favorite color. It symbolizes my closeness, care, and respect for this person. Igor Vladimirovich's suit was not green, but in my imagination, it merges with this color - the color of trust and calmness.

The creation of this portrait was a very important and significant process for me. And I am glad that I managed to transfer my impressions and emotions associated with this wonderful person to the canvas.

London. Landscape

2022, Oil on canvas, 110x60 cm

The picture with a view of the London landscape presents the viewer with an unusual look at this famous city. Instead of a busy metropolis with double-decker buses, the Tower and the Thames, we see the peaceful green landscape of one of London's parks. Multi-colored bright bushes and trees, a lush lawn and a clear blue sky are not quite typical for the British capital.

Medina sees London in the summer, immersed in greenery and blooming with all the colors under the warm sun, he kindly and gently invites you to walk along the alleys, sit on a bench, lie down on the grass - plunge into a carefree time, get enough of the aromas of the most long-awaited season of the year, hear the birds singing and rustle of leaves.

A picture of a non-standard format, stretched upwards, will become an organic addition to the interior of your home, create a cozy atmosphere and cheer you up with its pure and bright colors.

Neighbour house. Landscape

2022, Oil on canvas, 50x100 cm

On a bright summer day, Medina looked out the window in her room and saw her neighbors' house as a bright orange cube standing on the border of the garden plots. From the wall of the house to the right there is a solid fence, in which a green gate is placed so that you can go to the neighbors and chat a little. One part of the house is covered by a large bush, but it does not disturb the geometry of the landscape.

Medina does not have enough height to look behind the house and see the neighbors' plot, it seems to her that the sky begins immediately behind it, in the distance of which a lonely tall tree is visible, as if tearing the clouds with its crown. The sky is multi-colored and shimmers with blue-green colors, reflecting the lawn or orchard growing on the ground. There are no people in the picture, as if it's noon and the time of rest from morning work, the owners hid inside the cool house from the sun and heat and are preparing for dinner.

If you want to decorate your home or office with a summer mood and give guests a pleasant experience and visual pleasure, this picture fits you.

Autumn

2022, Oil on canvas, 100 x 100 cm

In this painting, I aimed to capture the changes in nature during autumn. The color palette was chosen to reflect the way leaves, especially maple leaves, change color. They take on not so much yellow and orange hues, but rather deep burgundy, wine, and blood-red tones, which, to me, better convey the mood of autumn. The work begins with the creation of a deep background, a foundational color that sets the tone for the entire composition. Then, I add brushstrokes to express the variety of autumnal moods and emphasize the richness of this season.

The abstract forms in the painting 'Autumn' symbolize the smooth, irregular trajectory of falling leaves. I wanted to convey how, as the leaves descend to the ground, they change color under the sunlight depending on the time of day—whether it's noon, early morning, or twilight. As each leaf falls, it leaves a colorful trail that enlivens the composition and creates a sense of movement and transformation in nature.

Spring

2021, Oil on canvas, 100 x 100 cm

This painting is my vision of spring, when nature awakens and fills with freshness. As the main shade, I chose bright green, which is associated with young leaves and dense thickets, symbolizing the beginning of life. This color, rich and light, reflects the dominant power of spring greenery, enveloping everything around.
On this background, I added strokes of other shades to convey the diversity of spring colors. Each stroke is part of the symphony of awakening nature, where sunlight, young foliage, and the first flowers together create a fresh and multifaceted image of spring.

Winter

2021, Oil on canvas, 100 x 100 cm

This painting is my winter spell. The colorful flashes on the canvas are not just snowflakes, but little stars that dance to the wind's tune, as if following an unknown path among garden trees and snow-covered firs. I wanted to convey how each snow crystal, passing through the light of lanterns and Christmas lights, becomes a drop of color in the cold winter palette.
When I look at these snowflakes, I see not just white snow, but a whole rainbow of shades brought to life by the light. They swirl and sparkle, refracting among the branches, and the winter garden seems to come alive, filled with magic. I tried to capture this sensation—when the frosty air seems full of light and color, and each snowflake sparkles, giving winter its secret, shimmering life.

Portrait. Doctor Vitaliy Viktorovich Grachev

2019, Oil on canvas, 50x80 cm

I have known him for 6 years, since 2015. He analyses my brain activity and asks about my art work. He was a doctor who helped me for several years to escape from a difficult life situation caused by my illness.

I made a sketch in 2018. Only a year later I started transferring this sketch to the canvas. When making a portrait, I used yellow color (Cadmium Yellow) for the background. I usually use this color for people who stay close to me, believing that it conveys a warm attitude and participation. I used the blue color in the background to emphasize the masculinity of the doctor, and with the addition of green, I wanted to convey his restraint and tact.

Six months later after finishing the portrait, this work took part in the 10th exhibition from the "Extension project: Velvet confessions" in the Triumph Gallery (Moscow) with my other works (India, Seascape). It happened that the major part of the visitors of the exhibition began to make self photos in front of this portrait. The portrait stays in Triumph Gallery till nowadays.

Later this portrait among other works displayed on this exhibition made a long journey through the cities of Russia and the countries closest to it.

Finally I presented a catalog of my works to my doctor Grachev.

Portrait. Umeda

2018, Acrylic on canvas, 100x70 cm

In the artwork "Umeda", painted in 2018, I depicted the nanny of my younger sister Safiya. She came to us when Safa was one year old and I was 14, and became an integral part of a large family for everyone. Umeda is a person of "the same wave" with us: we laugh at the same jokes, cry at the same sad episodes, love the same cuisine, like the same music performers. Together we experience our victories and defeats.

Umeda is very gentle and attentive, warm and loving. Safa probably loves her the most, but Umeda's love is enough for all of us, we (sisters) are not jealous of her for each other.

The idea for this painting came when I had a regular painting lesson. Umeda entered the studio, wearing a large green-turquoise-blue checked bathrobe and a towel over her head. Illuminated by the bright sun, her outfit burned with fabulous colors, and my art teacher exclaimed: “Medina, quickly take a picture of Umeda, you should paint her.” And I immediately started working on the portrait: I chose the size for a long time, selected the right colors - during this period I painted with acrylic. I highlighted the reflections of the sun that fell on Umeda's face and clothes with orange and red tones. The background of the picture shimmers with different shades of yellow - this color gives me a feeling of warmth, something very dear, homely.

The portrait of Umeda was bought at the very first exhibition, as it was cozy and sincere.
